Connect AI assistants (MCP)

External AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Claude Code can be connected directly to Pantarey. The assistant then reads records, starts processes and completes tasks – in the chat, but always under the name and with the rights of the user who connected it. The connection is based on the open standard MCP (Model Context Protocol), which all of these assistants support.

What the assistant can do

  • Find and read data: view data schemas, search, filter, browse and read records, download files attached to records.
  • Analyze: run SQL queries over the tables of Analytics.
  • Processes: see available actions, fill in a start form and start a process, follow running cases.
  • Tasks: view and complete open tasks.
  • Write data: create and change records – only with an additional role, see Roles and security.
  • Know the company: description, terms and rules the administrator entered, see Company & terms.

What the assistant cannot do: delete records, delete processes or cases, change settings. For everything the chat cannot do, it provides a link into the Pantarey app.

Principles

  • Own identity: Every call runs under the connected user. The assistant can never do more than that user can in the app.
  • Same rights as in the app: Data schema permissions and the assignment of tasks and start events apply unchanged.
  • Writing needs an extra role: Without it, the assistant only reads.
  • One record per call: There are no bulk changes.
  • Limits and kill switch: The administrator sets hourly limits and can switch the access off at any time.
  • Everything is logged: Every call is recorded with user, tool, result and decision in an Analytics table.

Example

"Which invoices from Müller GmbH are still open?" – The assistant searches the Invoices data schema, shows the hits and offers the link to the invoice in Pantarey.

"Request leave for me from 3 to 7 November." – The assistant fetches the start form of the leave request, asks for missing details, summarizes and starts the process after confirmation.
