Data List Widget
The Data List widget displays the folder structure of a data schema directly on the dashboard. Folders can be expanded and collapsed to navigate through the hierarchy. The integrated search allows filtering entries by name.
This makes it easy to quickly find data objects and open them with a single click.
Typical Use Cases
| Use Case | Description |
|---|---|
| Incoming invoices | Navigate invoices by year and month in a folder structure. |
| Contracts | Browse contract documents by customer or category. |
| Meeting minutes | Find meeting notes by date or project. |
| Receipts and records | Browse receipts and supporting documents by billing period. |
| Technical documentation | Filter manuals and specifications by product or machine type. |
Features
- Folder navigation: Folders can be expanded and browsed – just like in the Data Lake.
- Search: Entries can be filtered by name using the search field.
- Direct link: Clicking an entry opens the corresponding data object.
- Folder prefix: An optional starting folder can be set so that only a specific subtree is displayed (e.g., only the current year).
Configuration
Two settings are configured in the properties panel:
- Data Schema: Which data schema should provide the entries?
- Folder Prefix (optional): Should the display be restricted to a specific folder? Example:
2026/open
Example
An accountant has a Data List widget on the dashboard that shows all incoming invoices for the current year. By navigating the folder structure to a specific month, individual invoices can be opened directly.
Tips
- Use folder prefix: A prefix like
2026limits the display to relevant data and reduces loading time. - Search for large datasets: The search covers the entire dataset of the schema and is especially useful for large volumes of data.
