Install Pantarey as an App (Android, iOS, Windows)

Pantarey can be used like a "real app" – without an app store. The application can be saved directly on the device and then starts in its own window. This feels like a classic app.

Why this is useful

Quick access: Pantarey sits with its own icon on the home screen / desktop.
Focus: Pantarey opens without browser bar, without distraction.
Less typing: No more "type URL", just tap/click.
Stay current: The app automatically fetches the latest version each time it opens.
Privacy: No installation from an app store is needed and no extra approval of contacts, camera etc. (unless Pantarey explicitly asks for it later).

Important: Pantarey fundamentally requires internet access to load data live.
Those who are completely offline can open the app interface, but actions like saving data or starting processes will not work.

Requirements

For all devices:

  • A link / URL to Pantarey has been provided (for example https://mycompany.pantarey.io).
  • Pantarey can be accessed in the normal browser and login is possible.
  • A current browser is used:
    • Android: Chrome or Microsoft Edge
    • iPhone / iPad: Safari
    • Windows: Microsoft Edge or Chrome

No App Store, Google Play Store or Microsoft Store is required.

Android (e.g. Samsung, Google Pixel, etc.)

Option 1: Via "Install as app" notification

  1. Open Pantarey in Chrome.
  2. After a few seconds, a notification appears at the bottom or top like
    "Add Pantarey to home screen" or "Install".
  3. Tap Install.
  4. Confirm.

Done: Pantarey now appears like a normal app with its own icon in the app launcher / on the home screen.

Option 2: Via the menu

If the automatic notification doesn't appear:

  1. Open Pantarey in Chrome.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right.
  3. Select "Install app" or "Add to home screen".
  4. Tap Install.

Afterwards:

  • Pantarey has its own icon.
  • Pantarey starts without the browser's address bar, more "full-screen" and calmer.

Successfully installed

When Pantarey is opened and no browser address bar is visible anymore, then Pantarey is running as an app and not just as a website.

iPhone / iPad (iOS / iPadOS, Safari)

Apple doesn't show an automatic "Install" button. Installation works like this:

  1. Open Pantarey in Safari (not Chrome – Apple only allows adding from Safari).
  2. Tap the Share symbol at the bottom (iPhone) or top (iPad) (square with upward arrow).
  3. Scroll down in the list and select "Add to Home Screen".
  4. Check the name (e.g. "Pantarey") and then tap Add.

Result:

  • An icon "Pantarey" is now located on the home screen.
  • When tapping the icon, Pantarey starts without Safari bar, almost like a native app.

Important for iPhone/iPad

Pantarey needs internet. The app can be tapped, but without connection no new data can be loaded or tasks submitted.

Windows (Edge or Chrome)

This is practical for people who use Pantarey daily and don't want to search for the browser tab every time.

Microsoft Edge

  1. Open Pantarey in Edge.
  2. On the right in the address bar (depending on version), an "Install app" icon appears.
    If not visible: Open menu (⋯) in the top right.
  3. Select "Install as app" or "Install this site as an app".
  4. Confirm installation.

Afterwards something important happens:

  • Pantarey has its own program window without the normal browser UI.
  • Windows optionally creates a shortcut in the start menu and/or on the desktop.
  • Pantarey can be pinned to the taskbar like Outlook or Teams.

Google Chrome (Windows)

  1. Open Pantarey in Chrome.
  2. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right.
  3. Select "More tools" → "Create shortcut…".
  4. Check "Open as window" (or similar text).
  5. Confirm with Create.

Afterwards, Pantarey can be started directly from the desktop/start menu.

Advantages on PC

Pantarey no longer needs to be searched for in open browser tabs, but has its own window that can be pinned to the taskbar.

Recognizing successful installation

  • Pantarey has its own icon (home screen, desktop, start menu).
  • When opening, there is no visible browser address bar anymore.
  • On Windows, Pantarey runs in its own window like a normal program.

If all this applies, Pantarey is being used as an app 🎉

Updates

Pantarey is regularly improved. Manual updates are not required.

Updates typically work as follows:

  • When opening Pantarey, a check is performed in the background to see if a new version is available.
  • If yes, this new version is automatically downloaded.
  • The next time it opens (or after a brief reload), the new version already starts.

In some cases, Pantarey displays a brief info after updating like "Latest version installed ✅".
This is normal and means: The most current version is being used.

Important

Pantarey cannot save new data or start processes without internet. This is intentional: Pantarey always works against the current, central database, so everyone in the company works with the same information.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Is Pantarey listed in the App Store / Play Store?
No. Pantarey is a so-called "Progressive Web App". Installation happens directly from the browser. This is normal and intended.

Can Pantarey be used offline, e.g. on a plane?
Pantarey can be opened, but without internet work cannot continue (no saving new entries, no completing processes).
As soon as network is available again, everything works normally.

Is this secure?
The connection runs over HTTPS. The contents come directly from Pantarey.
No additional rights on the device are requested, unless these are consciously granted (e.g. camera for a photo upload).

Must anything be reinstalled after updates?
No. Pantarey takes care of this itself. If there are major new features, a brief message may appear or a "What's new?" dialog.

The option 'Add to Home Screen' is not shown. What to do?

  • On Android: Open Chrome menu (⋮) and search for "Install" there.
  • On iPhone/iPad: Use Safari (not Chrome). Then the share symbol → "Add to Home Screen".
  • On Windows: Use the "Install app" icon in the address bar in Edge.

Can Pantarey be removed again?
Yes.

  • Android: Hold icon → Remove.
  • iPhone/iPad: Hold icon → Remove app.
  • Windows: Right-click icon in start menu / taskbar → Uninstall / Unpin from taskbar.

No company data is lost. Only the shortcut is deleted.

What to do if Pantarey loads 'empty' or stays white?
This is usually a connection or cache issue. Solutions, in order:

  1. Check internet connection.
  2. Completely close and reopen the app.
  3. As a last resort, open in the normal browser (retype the URL) and log in there again.
  4. If it still doesn't work: Contact IT / admin / point of contact.
